This beach is facing South China Sea and the nearest village where tourists can homestay a night is Kg Minyak not far from the Kudat-Kota Marudu highway. This is a 5.5km of offroad mountain biking from Kg Minyak through some villages and underneath tall coconuts trees where finally you will reach to a beautiful beach. You can swim and not necessary to have picnic lunch here as because you can return to Kg Minyak through mountain biking.

Semilarly from the Kudat-Kota Marudu highway, you will start mountain biking from Kg Bangau through offroad to its beautiful beach. Here you can see some rice field with some Chinese old houses. With just a mountain biking distance of about 6km, you can stay at the beach for some relaxation. Further mountain biking can proceed to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau.

From the Bangau beach, you can further mountain biking on the offroad across some coconuts plantation coming to the highway from Kudat going to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau. There is no hills and you can reach to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau easily. Along the offroad especially at Kg Tajau, you can see a lot of abandon Chinese houses.When the first Chinese immigrants coming from China landed in Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, most of them turned into farmers and stayed there. Eventually when they moved further into the towns and city, they left their house abandon. The archetectural designs of the Chinese houses in the earlier day were very unique. The total distance from Kg Bangau to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau is about 24km. For those who wish to mountain biking on their returning to Kudat, they can proceed on a different way. 

If you are staying at Kudat Golf and Marina Resort; why not a mountain biking to the Tip Of Borneo through a challenging way. From the town of Kudat, you will mountain biking to the Kudat airport on bitumined road. You will then proceed mountain biking across some small hills to the section where offroad start. In the  journey, you will  mostly be attracted by the coconuts plantation and seeing some Chinese old houses. Towards Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, there is a long sandy white beach called Kalambunian Beach where a lot will do picnic there. Finally mountain biking to the Tip Of Borneo which in total, it covered a distance of 32km.

The total distance would be about 80km. This is an adventurous mountain biking route where you may need a back up vehicle to carry water, pack lunch and most properly if you are not able to complete the mountain biking, you can just get up to the vehicle and go back to Kudat. You will start from Kudat town from where you stay all the way going through the journey with the visit of all the major beaches in Kudat. The mountain biking route can be on the main road and after Bak Bak Beach, it will be offroad to Kimeheng. Coming back will be on the offroad too to Kg Tajau. This will be a whole day of mountain biking which can be a 5 to 6 hours.

This route is indeed very challenging as it goes through a lot of uphill and downhill in the Rungus countryside. You will be visiting one of the most beautiful beach in Kudat i.e Teringkai Beach. Then, from Teringkai, you will be coming out to the Kota Marudu-Kudat Highway proceeding to Kg Gombizou, Kg Sumangkap and back to Kg Bawang Gazo where each of this village, you will see the successful project of the Sabah Tourism called One Village One Industry for the local Rungus communities to participate in the tourism industry. The total distance for this route is also about 80km and this can indeed be a full day of mountain biking.
